I've gotten well into the blower motor replacement project and discovered that the core seems to have a slight leak. With all this disassembly already done, it seems prudent to press on and repair/replace the core.
BUT - as far as I can see (and I can see plenty; dash is out, and right side ducting and impeller are out) the core is trapped inside the main plastic housing of the HVAC unit and its left and right halves need to be split to extract the core. Can I somehow just remove the left half - leaving the A/C system alone - and get the core out that way?
This is turning into one of those nightmare projects that just keep on growing.
BTW, websites of Art Benstein (blower) and Dave Shannon (dashboard) have been VERY helpful in getting me this far with no broken parts and only minor cussing!
