Hi all,
We have a 1988 N/A 740 GLE automatic (fuel injection, U.S. model) with almost 300,000 miles on it. The car still runs strong and is a daily driver. However, the fuel economy is horrid!
Over the past 5 or 6 weeks, I have been taking MPG measurements and the figure I get is around 17 MPG city! Now, I know Volvos aren't the most aerodynamic cars on the road and that automatics are even less efficient, but 17 seems like a horrid figure. Granted I do have a bit of a heavy foot, is 17 MPG city standard?
What can I do to improve that figure? What MPG does your Volvo 700 series (2.3 liter n/a) get?
Thanks in advance! :)
