Anyone have any insight into what the maximum oil change interval can be with the Volvo oil filter or MANN oil filter ? There seem to be a lot oils capable of holding up to 10,000 miles or longer. Mobil has a new oil coming out that is recommended for 15,000 mile intervals. I am concerned that redblocks only hold approximately 4.5 quarts of oils and about the debris load capability of the oil filter.

Is there any Volvo market that has a higher mileage oil change interval than approximately 7,000 miles on the factory oil filter ?.

I used to do 10,000 mile oil changes (about 2X a year) on a 1985 740GLE using factory oil filter and Mobil 1 synthetic. Car was totaled in an accident unfortunately. Air filter stayed relatively clean so I used that to justify the longer oil change interval.



Is there a filter that we can use for longer Oil Change intervals on our redblocks ?

Yeah I realize Used Oil Analysis would probably be worth the info and I may do that if I go back to longer drain intervals.
