My car has had an issue with its door locks lately. The trunk stopped opening unless you unlocked the car with the power lock and then the driver's side door stopped functioning as well. For a little while the only door you could unlock from the outside was the passenger side. Until tonight. Tonight I went out and unlocked the passenger side, the little knob went up, and then I couldn't take the key out. I was able to get the key out by locking it again (knob went down) and now the key will not turn either way.

I called a locksmith and got a long spiel about "high-security locks" and "lazer cut keys" but mostly he told me I was in big trouble. I personally think its a problem with the locks but he said maybe the key lost its programming. As far as I know this is an old (88) car and I don't think the keys are that high tech. Does anybody out there know if this a lock or key problem? Either way, what can I do to fix it?
