Battery keeps dying in '86 740GLE Turbo Diesel Wagon 700 1986

I put a new starter (new Bosch) in my 1986 740GLE Turbo Diesel about a month ago. About a week or so after it was running again my wife's friend had left her keys in her Passport overnight with the electronics on (but the car off) and it wouldn't start the next morning. I was out of town and she had a friend jump start the Passport with the Volvo. I'm not sure if they had the Volvo running or not when the Passport was jumped but I'm wondering if they didn't and the problem I'm having now is a result of that??

Four days later the battery had died in the Volvo. My wife had charged it for a day using my slow charger and it ran fine for the past two weeks. Today it died again and I was wondering if either the battery may be bad (just bought it last May and it wasn't used from Aug-Jan as the car didn't run) or if something may be running down the battery. Can someone give me some advice or suggestions as to what to do? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jeff
