yet another 'checking my atf level' post! 200 1995

I'll make this quick! I know how this question gets asked so often! recently had a radiator installed, so I figured the shop might have topped off the atf to make up for any that was lost from the cooler lines, and I guess also as part of the "topping all fluids while we're at it" service most shops do anyway. ever being the faithful and loving (and paranoid) volvo owner, I went over the work the shop did. after a 20+ minute drive on local and freeway (around 60-75mph) driving, I parked the car on level ground, waited about 2 minutes and then checked the atf. I pulled the dipstick out, ignored the initial reading and reinserted it and read the level reading for hot. I normally do this more than twice. so my reading seems to show that the atf is at the max, in fact the level reads just at the very top of the plastic piece, at the border where the top end of the plastic meets the metal. is this okay? or should level read WITHIN the max? how much atf are we talking about between max and the top end of the plastic piece? I'd hate to fuss over draining some fluid if the amount is significant. thanks all!
