I'm lusting after an 82 GLT with M46 and sunroof. But I recall that the 83-87 740s had awful wiring harness problems, along with many of the 80s 240s. But when exactly did Volvo start using the crappy harness in the 240?

If anyone has any other general advice on the GLTs, I'd appreciate it very much. (My mechanic says they eat gas and are hard to find parts for, but I REALLY miss power windows and would love having the wind in what's left of my hair.)
