'83 240 won't start.. PLEASE HELP!! 200 1983

my 83 240 has been running fine up until about two weeks ago. I drove home one night and everything was fine but when I woke up the next morning she wouldn't start. when I turn the key there is no click but the lights turn on, radio works, etc. so I know that it's not the battery and possibly the starter.
the day after that I try it mid day when the weather is warmer(I live in the sf bay area, it doesn't get too cold) and still no go. at that time I give up, and have it towed to my mechanic in manteca (jones auto) about 50 miles away.
when it gets there paul looks at it and he says it is starting fine and has drove it to see if he could get it to act up and still no problems. turns out the shop is closing at the end of jan. and he cannot do anything for it. I go and pick it up and indeed it starts. until last night...
I came home to pick up something real quick and she was not sitting for more than 15 minutes. when I came out she would not start. same problem same symtoms. so now i'm thinking something is loose and just needs to be tightened down?
I, myself don't work on my car on alot of things. just the small stuff: hoses, fluids, interior, some wiring. I am out of a mechanic though and would like to get her to start. does any body know what it might be? if it is an easy fix, i'll do it myself. but if not, does anyone know a good import mechanic in fremont, ca? thank you!!!
