I was told of this site by my father, an avid Volvo lover who says you folks have helped him out in the past. I'm hoping that you can help me too. A week or so, the check engine light came on in my '93 240. I took it in to the mechanic and he said that in the area I live in too many 240's rust out so they don't carry the tool necessary to assess the problem. He said that he thought it might be an Oxygen sensor, but I shouldn't be terribly worried about it. The replacement part was $400 and w/o knowing that this is what was the problem, I'd rather not guess. It was his opinion that I would not be hurting the car by driving it, but the light concerns me. Something isn't right- the car drives fine and I haven't noticed any problems, but the light's on and that means something's wrong. If you can offer any advice, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kent
