So, if you have not read my most recent post, my '82 isn't doing too great. I am running very very good gas, the timing is right, everything that I can check seems okay. My car stalls (this is the most recent figure) sometimes five or six times in the mornings. It hesitates and sometimes stalls when I give it gas from a stop, sometimes it idles very low, about 300 rpm and will not go above 3000, it doesn't matter what I do. It sounds like it is only running on two or three cylinders when it does this. It has very little power unless the engine has been running for about an hour. It also will randomly make the idle surge from 300 to about 2500 RPM. I got a tip that it might be the old version of the LH fuel injection that was the problem. I believe this was the first year that it was used. So, my questions are: what parts would I need to switch out the versions? Would I gain any horsepower? What is the best version?
I don't really care about gas mileage anyway and I can get all of the parts that I need for under 20.00. if you have any other comments, you can email me.
In advance, thanks for your help,
Joe
