1983 242DL No Fuel 200 1983

I just lost my 78 242GT and gained a 83 242DL. The problem i am having is the thing just wont start. I get spark. the fuel pumps don't run but if i supply power to them directly they run. I went searching for the fuel pump relay and ended up finding two relays... both with a red/yellow wire going to them. one small say about 18gauge wire and the other large probably about 10 or 12 gauge. both relays are good. i havent checked the one with the smaller gauge wire but the one with the larger gauge gets power to the relay as long as i feed a ground to it when i turn the key. the ground doesnt seem to be connected. where does the relay ground to? am i looking at the right relays? it is totally different then my 78 242. HELP
