Rear Shocks and Front Strut Replacement '89 240 Wagon 200 1989

I am planning to use my "new" 240 wagon to haul my 20' boat around this summer. My trailer tongue weight is about 80 lbs. I know I need to beef up the rear shocks, and I might as well replace the front struts, too. is this something I can do at home with a good jack and ramps? I am looking for suggestions also for the shocks--gas or not? What kind of struts?
Suggestions will certainly be appreciated.
