It was supposed to be a straight remove and replace with IPD sway bars on this 1995 945 Turbo. I didn't count on the need for new endlinks as well. After soaking in PB Blaster, I started with removal of the original sway bars and, while turning the top nut on the passenger side endlink, the stem broke just below the threads; sheared off; kaput. I found a line of rust that went around the shaft of the endlink where it broke. The nut on the other side came off fine and the stem looked better overall. The car will now stay on the stands for a few days until the new endlinks I ordered arrive. At least it didn't break while on the road. This car had roughly 3/4" sway bars in the front and skinny 1/2" bars on the rear (our '90 745 NA didn't came without any rear sway bars). Are the old bars thicker than NA 745s or 945s? Wondering what to do with them.
