Flashing 'CD' light on radio 900 1992

I'm a new owner of 1992 940T. Cleaned the battery terminals, and reconnected them. When I turned the radio on, "CODE" was displayed, and "CD" light was flashing. I found the code in owners manual. After entering it, radio worked, and "CD" light went away. However, when I turn the radio off, "CD" light continues to blink. When I turn the radio back on, it goes away, and this time I am not prompted to enter the code. Bottom line, with radio on, light goes away, radio off, and it blinks. Is this normal ?

Also, my rear speakers don't work. What could it be ?
