SRS steering wheel removal 200 1990

I would like to remove the steering wheel and SRS from my 1990 245. I have a
GT wheel I want to install. Any advice about how to do this. I have read about disabling the SRS, however I am not sure how the get the wheel off with the bag intact. Also, any other issues like idiot light coming after removing the system. Thanks for all the help.
