Jackson Sadler, NC received your email about Volvo Radio 200

Jackson,

I tried to reply to your e-mail, but it was returned undeliverable, as you gave it. My reply:

Hello Jackson,

The wrecking yard typically gets $33 for them. I would have to add shipping, from Australia. The radio came from a 1982 Volvo 245, with a B21E, engine.

The wiring harness is complete. It is dusty, but I suspect it works. Most I have found work. I did roughly clean the dust off. It looks nice and complete.

I know they are low tech and old fashioned, but they preserve that "original" look of our older Volvo cars. That is why I keep mine, which was originally just an AM/FM, with manual antenna. I got an AM/FM/Cassette Stereo and Volvo Electric Antenna, from the same Wrecking Yard, that I pulled, and all worked perfectly, after some thorough cleaning. I suppose I should charge a little something for Cleaning and Testing, as it is all materials and time involved. I could photocopy, at 10 cents per page, the Manual and Installation Instructions, if you wish.

Keep your old radio for spare parts, such as lights, face plate, or whatever.

The time from Australia to the US varies, but typically not longer than two weeks. Because of the great distances between us and great difficulty tracking anyone down - Funds must be guaranteed, just like a Seller would on Ebay.

Let me know what you want to do. Thanks for making inquiry.

Regards,
RLC

Hello, RLC
I have an 85 244 GL, with the radio in the lower bay below the ashtray as you described in your post.
What is your asking price for the radio? The radio portion of my system works fine, but the cassette deck is not functioning, and I would like to have that option. Also, my left rear speaker does not produce sound even though I have checked and found voltage at the left rear speaker wire, and the speaker checks good when temporarily jumpered from the right rear speaker. I do not think the signal is being sent to the speaker from the deck. Have you encountered this problem before?
A good working system is in order, so please let me know what your price is as soon as you can.
Thanks.
