Aftermarket Starter Solenoid Possible on Big Bosch Starter? 700 1988

I have a big bosch starter, SR37XX, with a cracked solenoid housing. Is a repair worthwhile? Are the solenoids easily removed? Anyone have one that they want to give away for the price of shipping? Could I use one of those aftermarket remote mount solenoids sold by Summit and others for domestic cars for about $25? If so, how would I wire it?
