Hi all,

My brother inherited my '85 740 Ti (I've since upgraded to an '87 760 Ti+ :) ), and his turbo is screaming like a banshee, and it loses power at about the middle of the yellow.

He's checked all the vacuum lines and hoses, and none are broken. He took it to a turbo specialist, who replaced some lines that he missed, but said that the turbo itself was in great shape--bearings, housing and all. And still the problem persists.

One thing: my mother hit a felled tree (yes, a felled tree, in the middle of the road...no idea how) and sent a stick through the intercooler. Would that be the cause for such a fast escape of air and loss of boost? My father doesn't seem to think so, but he's never really done the turbo thing before, so...

We're at a loss...So he asked me to post for some input here.
