My 1988 244 just rolled over to 170k today. I know that this is not a lot of miles compared to what a lot of you guys have, but, I think that it is the highest milage cars that has ever been in my family. Best of all, it feels like it only has 70k if that. I'm hoping for at least another 170K out of this great car. I change the oil ever 2500 miles with ams synthtic, and clean the flame trap filter and hoses at every oil change. Timeing belt was done at 148k. Is there anything else that I should look at. The M47 gear oil was changed about two years ago, so I might want to do that. Is redline the best stuff to use? What is the deal with overfilling the transmission? Is it recomended? Oh, how do I clean the breather box?
Thanks for any information and happy bricking.
