Driveline vibration and TSB 700 1990

A local shop told my wife that the vibration on the car was due to the center support bearing. He handed her the TSB and told her that he does not work on Volvo's. The TSB said to shim the bearing up as much as 1/2 inch or down as much as 3/16 inches with washers.

So my question is.........has anyone done this and which direction for off accelerator vibration??

Thanks
