Strange clicking from rear axle. Any idea? 700 1991

got a 91 740 wagen and have recently noticed a clicking noise comeing from my rear axle. It only happens when i coast to a stop, but, if while coasting, I push the gas, the sound stops. I doesnt seem to be brake related because it make the noise whether or not the brakes are pushed. any suggestions?
