May an ABS strut tube be used on non-ABS 740? 700 1986

Just scored a pair of strut tubes from a 90 740 with the seperate hub/rotor setup to upgrade my worn out one piece 86 rotors. However my 86 is non-ABS and the 90 tubes have the pick-up slotted 'gears' attached just past the hub. Can I use these with Girling non-ABS calipers? I don't see how these 'gears' will get in the way, but any thoughts would be appreciated.
