Overheated Turbo Follow Up 900

Reference post: http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/index.htm?id=920083

I looked at the 1994-945T yesterday and found out what failed on the car. The owner had no clue. It wasn’t the water pump it was one of the infamous turbo cooler hoses. The sad thing is, after the owner’s wife stopped the car, the owner went out and decided to drive it home about 3 miles, without water. It has the camel interior with plenty of stains and dirt and leather seats beyond repair. One bonus, it has 16” Hydra wheels. Was this a dealer option? BTW, no turbo badge but it had a boost gage.

The battery did not have enough juice to start the car. Time was running out and was just able to pull the plugs and test the compression on two cylinders, cold and dry with a medium rotation which doesn’t mean much. I got 35 on 4 and 65psi on 2. I should have brought my oil can.

It’s gonna be a money pit. I should walk away - jury is still out.

*********Turbo owners, replace the two turbo cooler hoses!!!*********
