My immediate interest is checking oxygen sensors. I don't yet own a digital meter.
My extended family has a total of 9 oxygen sensors on assorted Volvos and BMWs. I have never replaced an oxygen sensor. The sensors have from 100k mi to 230k mi on them, and some are suspect.
Before I start replacing the sensors at $100 a pop, I would like to test them to at least prioritize my purchases.
The meters I have been looking at have three price points: $30, $90, and $300. What does a shade tree mechanic like me need?
