Recap: Manual rack progress, horribly wrong boots 200

Previously there was some confusion with my manual rack I was rebuilding. Some said oil, others said grease. It was a cam rack (no rubber grommets at the tie rods, and the tie rods have female threads), and the entire rack was loaded up with old dirty grease. There wasn't any guessing I ahd in fact a manual rack :)

My green manual states the early cam manual racks used oil for lubrication, and all of the updated versions used grease. The manual is fairly new as it also covers the airbag systems in the 240's.

Now onto the real questions and the reason for this thread.

I ordered Scantech boots from FCPgroton, and they aren't even close to fitting. I double checked the part numbers and they are correct. I then went to other various Volvo parts sites and checked what they listed, and they too have the exact wrong parts. What the heck? The part sent had the opening on the rack side at about 2", while the size needed is more like 1-3/8" to 1-1/2". do any other cars have boots with that size opening?

I am now in dire need of some damned boots. Does anyone here have a contact at a dealer? I need the passenger side one at the very least, and Vadius lists 271543 as the part. Please email me at runabout4fun@yahoo.com if you can get this.
