Question about installing a HEPU water pump on my 1993 240 200

My Hepu pump came with 3 seals and a new gasket. I see the big seal goes up on top of the pump. There are also two smaller seals. One is about a 1/2" thick and the other is about a 1/4" thick. The 1/2" thick one seems like a perfect fit for the red metal line that goes back along the engine block. I don't know what to do with the other thinner seal though. Does it go inside that part of the pump that presses into the reward pipe? I am inclined not to use this smaller seal, but it makes me nervous. I just wanted to check with all of you before I proceed. Thank you for any and all help.
