i posted a while ago about an incapacitated turbo, leaving me with very few horses, and i thought i got the answer when i was told to check the hose from the airbox to the turbo very carefully. well, i found the hole (it was a gaping hole, but on the underside where i couldn't see until i removed the hose), got super excited, replaced the hose, and i still have the same problem, no boost. i have read through all i can, and it seems like i should be looking at checking wastegate valve, but i have no idea what or where that is, nor what to do with it when i encounter it. it seems like everybody else knows, but i have never worked on the turbo before, so i am clueless. the turbo stopped all at once, not a gradual problem, has no other symptoms (i.e. noises or oil leakage), the car just drives at like half power and the gauge never creeps into the turbo zone. this does not stop me from driving it, but it leaves me feeling pathetic and feeble while behind the wheel, as well as it being a bit of a safety hazard. any info? thanks.
