Aftermarket Fuel level sending units? 900

So far, I've been unable tyo get the attention of this seller, but they supposedly have a replacement 1991-1995 940 Volvo Fuel Level Sending Unit for $130.00
http://auto-parts-zone.com/volvo-940-fuel_delivery-e2030_138555oes.html

No doubt any of you with a failed unit know that volvo wants ~$250.00 for the sender, and another ~$250.00 for the fuel pump, which they insist must be replaced together (due to retooling), plus labor if you let them do it.

My regular mechanic tells me that the sender unit for a Turbo cannot be used in a regular 8-valve 940 (like mine), but I don't know what the difference is between them. The above site doesn't make a clear distinction as to turbo/8-valve, but it's been my luck so far that all the places that even list this unit only have it for the turbo.

So, thoughts, experiences, any ideas where I can get a working sending unit w/o dropping $500.00.
