Photos of our 1987 Volvo 740 after a drunk driver ran a stop sign without even slowing down (at about twice the speed limit). I was driving and saw the headlights coming and stopped as I was coming into the intersection - no stop sign on our through road - and he hit us in front of the wheel from the right. If I had not seen him and stopped he would have hit the passenger door where my fiance was sitting.

We were not hurt at all, although the other car was in mcuh worse shape, it was an Acura and the whole side was ripped off. It spun out 180 degrees and ended up half a block down the street and collided with a metal refuse container in front of a house undergoing renovations.

The driver fled the scene before the police arrived and they never found him (he was not the owner of the other car, the story is apparently the car's owner was at the bar drunk and this guy he didn't know offered to drive his car home.... and was evidently no more sober!) so who knows if the driver was injured.

This was in 2001 but I was just going through photos and making a web album, thought I would share!
