I have a 1989 240dl which is a wonderful car in most aspects. There are, however, a few kinks and quirks (maybe less than most cars) that leave me scratching my head and feel like going to buy a fifth of jack daniels. I am in the process of replacing the heater/air cond. blower motor. I have, so far, disassembled everything (incl. the dash) that is required to get the blower motors CASING. This is as far as my haynes manual goes with the instr. on the removal of said unit. The problem I am having now is HOW TO EXTRACT THE BLOWER MOTOR CASING from what is left of the car. The entire body of the casing INCLUDES part of the a\c unit consisting of lines going from casing and then through the firewall. I am assuming the casing needs to be pulled from the car and then split open to swap the motors. If this is the case, what do I do now? Or, if my assumption is wrong, what do I do now? Any information ASAP (the sooner I start putting the mountain heap of car parts back together the better) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
