Crash Test Data

It looks like the IIHS is beginning to publish new crash test data for side impact and rear occupant vehicle performance. The results are a bit eye-opening.

We have watched other manufacturers catch up to Volvo in terms of the performance in the front offset crash test. In some cases other manufactures appeared to do even better than Volvo. But we asked ourselves, are they making a truly safe car, or are they optimizing their design to perform well in specific tests.

I believe we now have our answer. If you look at rear occupant safety, Volvo remains on top with excellent performance. Other manufactures are racking up poor ratings across the board. Check out Honda and Toyota in particular.

Something to think about.
