I was driving back from dropping my wife at work on sunday. As I got off the freeway, I heard a horrible sound - died instantly. Had it towed to my mechanic who determined the crank had broken?

Has this happened to anyone? the last thing I ever expected. This can happen with no warning at all, it ran so smoothly just seconds before. I took care of her, but now I need a new engine:(

I will have to look for a donor car for the engine, and can only fit one Up till 94' , am I correct?
