Trouble re-starting 200

My 1990 240 DL (158,000K) starts instantly everytime, without even pressing the gas. But when I try to restart it doesn't catch instantly like when it's cold.
It takes longer and I have to give it gas, sometimes alot of pumping. Sounds to me like some exhaust (or something) is getting trapped somewhere. Any suggestions about what I should do. This makes running simple errands a chore.
