Help with pre pump assembly. I got it put but what the heck ? 200

I am working on my fuel related no start ,. And I removed the Pre pump assembly.

SO i got the hatch open , and fished out the assembly . However . It is quite evident that someone has been IN there before , and evidently didnt correctlry assemble everything, as there are loose things.

MY main concern is Where does the PUMP's ground wire connect to after it leaves the terminal with the spring (resister)
