door molding problems. 200

with my 3rd attempt at making the door molding stay in place which was ripped off by a tree stump while opening the door (Grey strip at bottom of driver's door), I wanted to ask what anyone recommends I use? I've already tried 2 different types of "weather-proof" glue and the then the double-sided foam tape, which lasted all but a few days.
anyone know what kind of (original)sticky foam is used to keep the volvo emblem in place on the fenders? I had a hell of a time trying to remove them when installing my euro-turn markers.
