Tool purchase, and thanks for DougC...... 200 1986

Doug put up a post about a tie rod end puller from Harbor Freight.

It is # 36861. I found it, and it looks like it will work.

Since I am also going to a camshaft change, I needed a way to measure the shims.
A metric micrometer?

Harbor Freight has one for $15.99 until March 26, 2005. (At least the one here does.)

It is digital, so you can choose either metric or SAE dimensions. It is not a micrometer, but a caliper. Has multiple uses, even though maybe not as precise as a true micrometer. covers 0-150 mm, and 0 - 6 inches.

Ask for item #47257. Has the look of a fine instrument, made in China.

Similar item at NADA was around $45. It, too was foreign. Couldn't find a Starret.

Regards,

Bob
