I need help urgently!! My friend was driving his 1991 240 yesterday when it died. He said while driving along, the engine (without warning) raced briefly and then died. The car stopped where it stood. It was almost as if the accelerator wasan't attached for a few seconds while it raced. My friend tried to start the engine. It ran normally for a few seconds and then died again. He said he noticed (right after this happened) that the Check Engine Light was on as well as the oil light, brake light (he thinks) and possibly the oil pressure light too. Any ideas what this may be?? It's difficult to do a search since the subject would most-likely be "no start".
