My 1979 244 Brake Job 200

I am going to replace the brakes on my volvo, the car was sitting for about two years, so i figure the brake pads need replacement and possibly the rotors turned. Any advice out there that could keep me from making a mistake. Anything at all, i will add i don't have much money to put into the car so, hopefully i don't ned to buy anything to expensive. Thanks
