We parked our 960 on the road this evening while I plowed our driveway of 10 inches of fresh snow again(twice in two days, dagnabbit!). When I went to move the car back into the driveway I could not turn the key in the ignition. It is not frozen (ie ice), but is absolutely immoveable. The ambient temperature is about 15 degrees F. The is considerable snow pack under the hood (car was stuck most of the day. The car is is in park, facing downhill on a 6 % slope, and slightly tilted to one side, perhaps 5 %. Jiggling the steering wheel, which often works on my other Volvos when this occurs, has no result, as the steering wheel is rock solid. I am unable to budge the front wheels by hand.
Could the weight of the car against the tranny in park be causing this? What else could cause this? How do I remedy the situation? The 960 is so heavy that there is no way my 240 would stand a chance pulling it backward to releive the weight, especially on our ice covered road.
TIA
