anything better than jbweld for glovebox repair?

I'm attempting to glue a small peice of plastice to the latchhole of my glove box. this peice will be getting some stress. So far JBWeld hasn't held.
I rarely deviate from a good product...but this just isnt' holding. As soon as I try to open or close the box more than a couple of times the plastic peice goes flying and then the box wont stay closed again.

Maybe there's a better glue or a better way of applying it.
i just mix it, smear it, clamp it and wait.
