Just where is the Power Stage??? 700 1986

My 1986 740 GLE is another no start. I have fuel getting through so have been tracing the ignition system. No Spark at the coil or Distributor. So next stop would be the Power Stage. From everything I have read, the power stage is supposed to be on the left inner fender, somewhere behind the battery. But my car has the battery on the passenger side (right hand) and there is nothing near it that looks like a power stage. I cannot seem to find one on the left inner fender either. Just where could this thing be? Does aanyone have a photo they could post or email me? Anything would be more helpful than the Chiltons or Haynes manuals I have.
