Never dealt with a burnt out clutch before so tell me if this makes sense and is indeed a burnt out clutch.
Friend borrowed car. Said he couldn't find 1st. Was probably starting out in 2nd or 3rd slipping the clutch big time.
Eventually clutch would not engage after letting pedal all the way out. He was stuck in the middle of the road and couldn't get car to move.
When I went to get him out of his bind there was a friction/heat/burn smell. I could litteraly put the car into any gear while the motor was running without pushing in the clutch. No grinding.
Got it home. Looked underneath. Clutch cable looks intact and is functioning properly.
Can anyone confirm probable cause is burnt out clutch?
Thank you,
Wow, I haven't used the board in a while and it seems the activity has gone up ten fold.
