I'm still trying to find out what is causing the lateral movement while driving on uneven road. I've checked a whole heap of things.
I grabbed the top of the right rear tire and shook it: clunk - clunk - clunk. Hmm. It doesn't do this on the left rear side when shaking top of tire.
So. Off comes disk and caliper. Seems there's about .005" - .010" of axial play in the axle. This seems too much since it shouldn't be making this noise when I grab top of tire and shake.
It's not leaking nor do I think this is contributing much to the problem but here's my question:
What is considered axial tolerance for rear axle?
