I have a 1995 960 sedan with 194,000 kms. I had a very strange experience on the way home from work. The car stalled at a stop light, and would not start again. I let it sit, and it started after a few minutes, but with the 'check engine" light on.
The car ran a little rough, and revved at about 1500 rpm at a standstill. If I put it in neutral or park, it revved to about 4000-5000 rpm. Taking my foot off the brake made the car want to surge ahead quickly.
By the time I got home, it seeme back to normal. The belts are in place, there are no fluids driping under the car, but there was a very slight burn smell. I have the transmission fluid level checked two weeks ago, it was fine. I haven't read the codes yet, but I want to have a good idea of the cause before I take it to the dealer.
All thoughts very much appreciated. - 960 Brick
