I posted this on the 900 section but there doesn't seem to be much knoledge over there on this subject.
My 94 965 with live axle came with novomats from the factory. At 110k miles they the right rear gave up the ghost. No saging but when I go over speed bumps the right rear is much softer than the left with lots of rebound. Car does a sort of diagonal bounce. I never really liked the nivomats. My cousin's 90 740 rides much better in the rear.
So I want to swap to a regular suspension on the cheap. I ordered turbo gas shocks from IPD ($43 each). Then I picked up some rear springs ($13 each) from a 88 745 without nivomats and a 19mm rear sway bar ($15) from a 85 760 diesel sedan. The 965 came with a 16mm rear sway bar from the factory. While I have the rear suspension up, what other parts should I upgrade/replace? From a visual inspection all the bushings look OK. No cracks or splits as far as I can tell. I've some people also replace the bolts for the shocks?
Thanks for your help
Justin
