A/C question! 900 1994

i purchased a 94 940 a few months ago and while looking under the hood i noticed that the plug that goes into the drier is pulled out and there is a wire stuck in the prongs to complete the circuit. the ac works fine just wondering why the previous owner would do that and if i should leave it alone.
any advise and education will be greatly appreciated.
