front brake noise after shut-off?? 120-130

For all the detectives out there:

Recently, after shutting off the engine I can here a quiet sound coming from the front, not an engine sound, i.e. not run-on, but like a tapping or 'knock at the door'. It makes about 7-8 taps, roughly every second, which get slower and then stop. It's not as quiet as a metal expansion-contraction sound.

Just a thought, but the 122S has been braking to the left recently. Could this noise be a sticking piston or caliper at the front?
