I have read the FAQ a LOT...for months.

I have a '92 745 B230F with 144K miles. When I bought the car less than a year ago I was getting about 350 miles per tank. I am now getting 225 to 250 per tank, same driving habits. Also, the performance is sluggish, and I feel a slight hesitation while driving...very slight, almost like I am towing something. But, it does drive and will accelerate well if punched, but it downshifts or slows down WAY too much under normal driving conditions. It pings sometimes under loads like hills, no matter what quality of fuel I use. At first I thought I might have a stuck caliper, but the car is not pulling and rolls in neutral.

Here is what I've done so far to attempt to correct this problem:

Checked/replaced vacuum lines.
Replaced fuel pressure regulator ($35 down the drain...gotta spare now).
Replaced knock sensor (Ouch, $50 down the drain...gotta spare now).
Pulled AMM plug, but it stalled.
Cap, rotor, wires, plugs (Bosch wires...not too happy with the fit)

The car starts and runs fine. It has a little hunt in the idle at times (100-150 RPM fluctuations), but I am really anal, and I'm sure it is due to the injectors, which I plan to pull and have cleaned. It is pretty smooth, nonetheless. Already cleaned the throttle body w/new gasket and cleaned flame trap & orifices. It has NEVER stalled or failed to start, run and drive, it just started getting crap mileage and doesn't have the kick that it had (which I admit isn't that inspiring with this car to begin with, but it ain't the same as it was 8000 miles ago).

I am planning to do the water combustion chamber cleaning, after which I plan to replace the O2 sensor. However, this replacing-parts-for-diagnosis is getting ridiculous. I have read things throughly before buying and replacing parts, but I am at a loss now. What do you all think?
