240 distributor replace 200 1987

The Hall effect connector broke and left me stranded today (one block from home, no problem). After work I went back to the car and the car started. It would appear that the wires are intact, but that the broken connector allowed one of them to ground against the distributor. I epoxied the connector back to the distributor and now need help to re-install the distributor. I rotated the crank until the cam sprocket was aligned with the mark on the cam shield, then backed the crank (ccw) until the timing mark on the crank pulley roughly lined up with the 10 degree BTDC mark. If I re-install the distributor with the rotor pointing at the #1 plug position and the crank/cam in this position, will I have the correct timing? Thanks.
