As many of you know, I've been disassembling my 1986 740 GLE wagon. I've amassed a large pile of spare parts for my 940 and for sale to needy 740 drivers (e-mail me if you need something). Anyway, my 1986 740 had a premium stereo with a volvo amp and good speakers. By contrast, my 1995 940 has a passable stereo that generally sounds poor. I'm thinking of installing the older stereo in my newer car. The form-factor for the unit is the same, but I'm concered about changes to plugs and wires and such over the 9 years that separates these two cars. Has anyone done this before? Any advice?

Six Volvos: all wagons.... 1972 145S, 1976 245 DL, 1983 245 GL, 1986 740 GLE, 1990 740 GL, now a 1995 940. Number 7 (a 1967 122S Wagon) is on the way.... Who needs a sedan, when you've got storage compartments in a wagon?
